Arctic Fox

August - October 2010

We've been gearing up for summer over the last few months, brewing and bottling every week. We've also brewed a cider, which should be out on tap soon. And we have a stout in the pipeline which will be in 500mL bottles. Stay tuned for more news about both soon.

The Microbrewers Showcase is on at Federation Square again in October - 20 and 21. We'll be there with a new bar we've just built.

Arctic Fox

June - July 2010

Over the last few months we've been brewing some test batches for some new beers we're thinking of making. We've also been looking at upgrading our bottling line to make it easier for us. It currently takes us quite a few hours to bottle each batch.

It might be winter, but Brad is out every weekend at the markets come rain, hail or shine. Come and have a chat with him at your nearest market.

The Fox on tap is going well. Usually Ice Cap Lager, but also a bit of American Pale Ale at: Mrs Parma's in Melbourne, The Boiler Room Bar at the Abbotsford Convent, The Comfortable Chair in Brunswick and Oscar's Ale House in Belgrave.

Locate your nearest Arctic Fox supplier on the Find A Fox page.

April - May 2010

We've been pretty busy here over the last couple of months; we finally got some labels for the American Pale Ale and have brewed and bottled a few batches of it now.

We also have the Ice Cap Lager on a few taps around the place, Mrs Parma's in Melbourne, The Boiler Room Bar at the Abbotsford Convent, and soon at The Comfortable Chair in Brunswick.

February - March 2010

We've been so busy over the last couple of months, going to markets, brewing, bottling, making new tanks, and working on our third beer, that we forgot to update the website in February.

Our third beer - American Pale Ale
We brewed the first batch of our third beer, the American Pale Ale. Its loaded with hops and packs quite a punch.
We had the first kegs at the Microbrewer's Showcase (March 17 & 18) and the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival (March 20 & 21).
We're still working on the label. Bottles should hit the shop shelves around mid April.
Mrs Parmas should have a couple of kegs before the end of March. (It won't last long).

Microbrewer's Showcase
We attended the Fed Square Microbrewer's Showcase on March 17 & 18. It was the first outing for our new American Pale Ale and it was well received. The Ice Cap Lager won the people's choice award for best lager!

New tanks
We made ourselves a coolroom last month and have three new 1000L conditioning tanks to go in it. We may need to buy some snow jackets for when we check on the beer.

Find a Fox
We've updated the Find A Fox page with all the places you can get your Arctic Fox.

Online Shop
We've finally got our online shop working, so you can buy beer directly from us. All the details are on our shop page.

January 2010

Happy New Year!
We had a little bit of time off over Christmas and New Years, although we did go into the brewery to check the fermenters a few times.

What the fox is going on in 2010:
We've started making some more tanks that will double our production capacity.
We're working on our third beer. It should be ready sometime in the first half of 2010.
Brad will be out on the road full time spreading the word about Arctic Fox this year.
We'll have the Arctic Fox bar at some more farmers' markets.
We might even get a change to sit down and have a quiet beer ourselves sometime.

Online Shop
We've finally got our online shop working, so you can buy beer directly from us. All the details are on our shop page.

Christmas Arctic Fox

December 2009

Merry Christmas!
From all the team at Arctic Fox, we'd like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope you have a great time over the holiday period.
Get Foxed, but get foxed in moderation!

Birthday
Arctic Fox has turned 1 year old!
It's been an amazing first year of operations for us. We've released our first two beers and have a third in development. We've had the chance to 'talk beer' with lots and lots of people over the last 12 months at events like the Fed Square Microbrewers Showcase, the Beer & Brewer Expo, the Royal Melbourne Show, and our regular farmers markets.
Arctic Fox couldn't run without the help from family and friends. We would like to say a big thanks to everyone who has helped us out during the last year.

Other News
Brad is now working at Arctic Fox full time! (Our first full time employee). He's finally given up his 9 to 5 job as an accountant (we told him it would go nowhere). He's now busy on the road visiting customers and getting our beer out to more outlets.

We had a great time at both the Microbreweries Showcase and the Beer and Brewer Expo in March.
Apart from being in the latest Beer and Brewer magazine, the showcase and the expo were the first big promotional things we've done. The Ice Cap Lager was received quite well at both events and we met lots of fellow brewers and other people in the brewing industry.

At the Federation Square Microbreweries Showcase, the Ice Cap Lager was voted equal first Best Lager for March 2009 with Coldstream Lager in the People's Choice Awards.

We were also at the Purvis Cellars Beer Festival on the 1st of April. Lots of Aussie brewers were there along with over 200 beer lovers who were all keen to sample and talk about the beers being shown.
